Dance Alumna Sidra Bell Presents New Work for Ballet Austin

Conservatory of Dance alumna Sidra Bell ’05 was one of three choreographers chosen to make and present new work for Ballet Austin. Ms. Bell participated in Ballet Austin’s second biennial choreographic project New American Talent/Dance.

Fifty candidates applied and six semi-finalists were chosen by a jury of three international artists. The three winning choreographers received $20,000.

Ms. Bell is artistic director of Sidra Bell Dance New York. She received her MFA in choreography from Purchase College and her BA in history from Yale University. She was recently commissioned by the Ailey School for her work Women Apart, which was performed by Ailey/Fordham BFA students.
