Purchase College celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of events and programs for students the week of September 24. The week’s activities are sponsored by the Office of Student Life.

Monday, September 24
Film Screening & Discussion: Y tu Mama Tambien
7PM in the Commuter Lounge, Campus Center North
In Mexico, two teenage boys and an attractive older woman embark on a road trip and learn a thing or two about life, friendship, sex and each other. There will be a brief discussion before and after the movie facilitated by Gary LaGuardia, Associate Professor of Spanish and Literature, and Carolina Sanin, Assistant Professor of Spanish. Light refreshments will be served.

Thursday, September 27
Dialogue: “Standing on the Corner: Immigrants in Westchester”

An intellectual talk by Political Science Professor John Gitlitz.
Friday, September 28
Day of Service
12:30-4:30PM, Children’s Village, Dobbs Ferry
Approximately 12 students will work on various landscaping projects at the residential school for underprivileged children.
3–6PM, Port Chester Carver Center, Port Chester
Students will be volunteering at the Port Chester Carver Center in the after-school program facilitating games and activities for the children.
