What is it?

The Purchase College Family Advisory Council is a passionate group of Purchase parents serving the college as leaders, mentors, and advisers. They discuss important challenges and opportunities related to student life and how to provide an exceptional experience for students. The council is a rewarding way to share in your student’s college years. Although all parents of undergraduate students receive resources from the Office of Community Engagement and are invited to be partners in their student’s education, council members take an active role at the college by serving as liaisons between the college and parents.

The Purchase College Family Advisory Council members also provide insight and advice from the parent/family perspective to current and prospective families, serve as a sounding board and communication liaison for college leadership. This team of parents focus on safety, wellness, leadership, and career development while collaborating with key college staff. The efforts, energy, and time our members will give will shape the college’s services and support for our students. Ideal applicants are energetic, creative, and dedicated to the improvement of the college and its support of students and their families.
