  • Veterans who are eligible for benefits described in Chapters 30, 32, 35, 1606, and 1607 have monthly benefits checks sent to their home address. Students eligible under these Chapters must then pay the college bill themselves.

Compliance with 38 USC 3679

In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e), this school adopts the following additional
provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill®
(Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA. This school will not:

  • Prevent the student’s enrollment.
  • Assess a late penalty fee to.
  • Require student secure alternative or additional funding.
  • Deny their access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional
    facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the
    institution.

Other Important Information

To claim educational benefits, discharged veterans must provide the Office of the Registrar with a copy of their Certificate of Release of Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214) and eligibility letter. Upon submission of all appropriate forms, the Office of the Registrar will automatically submit your enrollment certification to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs each semester.

Undergraduate students registering for and maintaining a minimum of 12 credits per semester will receive full veterans benefits. Graduate students registering for and maintaining a minimum of 9 credits will also receive full benefits.

Students must notify Paul Arroyo, the certifying official at Purchase College, if any changes are made to their schedule that will result in a drop from full-time status. He can be reached at VAServices@purchase.edu or (914) 251-6368.

Grades of I (incomplete) and W (withdrawn) are reported to the VA and result in an over-payment to the institution. The student is responsible for reconciling any balance.
