• Patricia Bice

    Patty is the Dean of Student Affairs. She has worked at the college for 16 years. Originally from Kansas City, MO, Patty received her BFA in Dance from Purchase College. She loves meeting students and helping them attain their goal of a Purchase degree. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, sailing, dance and watching films. She holds a MA in Dance from UCLA and has recently completed  her EdD from Northeastern University in Higher Education Administration. Her dissertation research is on organizational behaviors and student persistence.

  • Jessica Bullock

    Jessica is an Admissions Advisor in the Office of Admissions. She has been working in Admissions for about three years. Jessica graduated from Purchase College in 2014, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Psychology. As a student she was very active on campus. She played Varsity Women’s Basketball for all four years, and was team captain during her junior and senior year. She also interned at both the Wellness Center and The Children’s Center; and she worked in the Box Office at the Performing Arts Center. Her favorite part of her job is being able to counsel students as they start their college search! Jessica is very eager to assist students and help them stay on track to attaining their degrees.

  • Mary Kate Derienzo

    Mary Kate has served as the Events Coordinator in the Office of Admissions for the past three years. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Mary Kate received her BA in Visual Art from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and her MS in Arts Administration from Drexel University. In her role at Purchase, Mary Kate plans Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and other events, as well as coordinates tours and visits to the College. Mary Kate is also involved in Orientation and Commencement. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the team of Admissions Ambassadors, who she oversees.

  • Nick Dorot

    Nick Dorot is an academic advisor and an alumnus of Purchase College’s Literature program. He is dedicated to social justice and hopes to spread Purchase’s exemplary brand of progressive thinking beyond its borders. In his spare time, Nick enjoys writing fiction, perusing academic journals, meditating and relaxing outdoors.​

  • Shaina Dymond

    Shaina is the Coordinator of Science Student Support Services. She has supported students as a Director of Residence Life, English teacher in South Korea, and as an AmeriCorpsVISTA member. Shaina loves guiding students at Purchase College as they embark on their academic, professional, and personal journeys. When she is not advising students or chatting with them over a puzzle in her office, you can find Shaina travelling, hiking, or adventuring with her rescue dog, Courage.

     

     

  • Elizabeth Elvira

    Lizz Elvira has been an administrator, educator and fight director for over 10 years. Born in the Hudson Valley, Lizz majored in Theatre Arts and English Literature at SUNY New Paltz. After graduation, she moved to Berkeley, California for an Education Administration Fellowship at Berkeley Repertory Theater. Following this life altering experience, Lizz stayed in California as an arts administrator, theater teacher, coach and fight director/stage combat instructor for organizations including Berkeley Repertory Theater, Berkeley Playhouse, Crowded Fire Theater and the American Conservatory Theater. When not at Purchase College, Lizz works at her family’s restaurant, hikes the many trails of Orange County and plays the guitar. Lizz is pursuing her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University.

  • Emily Geider

    Emily is the Coordinator of Donor Relations for the Office of Advancement Services. She joined the team in September 2017. Emily received her BA from SUNY New Paltz and her MS from SUNY Albany in Childhood Education. Emily brings with her a background in the non-profit and education industries. Prior to joining Purchase College, Emily spent almost 10 years working for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, located in Cold Spring, NY, where she had multiple roles, including Development Associate and Box Office Manager. For over 5 years, Emily worked as a substitute teacher in multiple school districts in Dutchess and Westchester Counties.  She looks forward to her role as a Staff Success Mentor at Purchase where she can continue to fulfill her passion of helping students to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. Outside of Purchase College, Emily enjoys hiking the Hudson Valley with friends, spending time with her family, traveling, fishing, cooking, and much more!

  • Masako Hashimoto

    Masako is a Career Counselor in the Career Development Center.  She is originally from Japan, and has been working at Purchase since 2011.  Outside of work, she is a foster parent of an orphan elephant in Kenya, and a big animal lover! (mind you she is not a vegetarian).  She is also a theater-enthusiast.  She has seen more than 700 shows since she arrived in New York!

  • Dianne Hebbert

    Dianne Hebbert is an academic advisor in the Advising Center. Originally from Miami, Florida, Dianne moved to New York to pursue her passion for the arts. She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from Purchase College and MFA in Printmaking from Brooklyn College. Dianne is a visual artist and educator. Her artwork explores representations of cultural identity and symbols of power. Dianne teaches printmaking and drawing to students of all ages for a variety of organizations in the New York area. She has previous experience as a curator and gallery director.  You can find Dianne either watching comedies, outside taking in nature or enjoying food!

  • Ryan Homsey

    Ryan is the director of the Advising Center and a lecturer in the Studio Composition program. He enjoys helping incoming students navigate all aspects of their academic journey. When not advising or teaching, he spends his time writing music for dance, theater, and concert settings, or biking along the Hudson River, baking, and reading!

  • Lauren L. Johnson

    Lauren Johnson is the new Prevention Coordinator at the Wellness Center. Lauren comes from a clinical background working with substance use in New York City, Montana, Arizona and Hawaii, but most recently worked as an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University. She has a specific passion for breaking social stigma around addiction and substance use through health education and community programming. When she’s not working, Lauren loves exploring Hudson Valley hiking trails and river towns, and watching Greys Anatomy, of course.

  • Christopher Kaczmarek

    Chris has been at Purchase College for thirteen years and currently serves as the Director of Instructional Support for the School of the Arts and General Manager of the Purchase College Center for Community and Culture in Yonkers.  As a Purchase College graduate himself, he has an intimate knowledge of the student experience here and enjoys using that special viewpoint to help current students on their path to success.

    When not teaching, staring at spreadsheets or fretting about budgets, he enjoys making art, bicycling, and spending time with his wife and cat while binging on Netflix.

  • Matthew Kraus

    Matt is the Director of the Wellness Center and started at Purchase in 2016, so he can relate to what it feels like to be new on campus! Matt has master’s degrees in public health and expressive arts therapy. He likes to help students make good decisions about their health, future and well-being.  When Matt is not working he enjoys his family, food and watching shows with his wife. Matt was a competitive cyclist for many years and still enjoys riding one of his bicycles as much as time will allow. 

  • Cynthia Marino-Sicat

    Cynthia has been a member of the School of Liberal Studies since 2005 where she serves as the Senior Academic Advisor. She received her BA in International Studies from Manhattanville College and her MPA from Pace University. In addition to her years of experience in advising, she is fluent in Spanish and can assist students and parents who are more comfortable with Spanish. Cynthia enjoys the relationships she builds with her students and is most proud watching them walk at the commencement. She enjoys music, traveling, baking, and learning new things!

  • Paul Nicholson

    Paul is the Director of the EOP/MAP programs at Purchase College and also serves as the college’s Ombudsman.  He is looking forward to helping his success mentees  achieve and lead at Purchase.  Some of Paul’s side interests are hiking, hanging out with his dog,  Dougal (who visits campus often), target shooting and gardening.

  • Adriana Pera

    Adriana Maria Pera is the Program Coordinator for the Conservatory of Dance and Arts Management. Originally from Niagara Falls, New York, she received her MM in cello performance from the University of Toronto. In her role at Purchase, Adriana spends her time interacting with students and ensuring they stay on track for graduation. Outside of work, she teaches cello and performs in the greater New York City area.

  • Peter Polinski

    Pete is an academic advisor in the Advising Center. He is a proud graduate of Purchase and has been studying and working here since 2000.  He is a drummer and enjoys playing and seeing live music on weekends.

  • Jessica Pozzuoli

    Jessica has been at Purchase College for 2 ½ years. She came to this community with an interest in helping students build and create their future, finding their unique path and individual place in this world. After completing her Masters in Urban Planning at Hunter College she worked with grassroots organizations to vocalize the resident and community needs in the rebuilding of Lower Manhattan. As Associate Director for a local television station, she organized community around access to sharing their voice- producing programs that reflected the creative interest as well as commentary on relevant social and political affairs. Jessica is currently support staff in the SOA Dean’s office and has a devoted yoga practice and dedicated teaching career.

  • Caitlin Read

    Caitlin is the Dean of Enrollment Management.  She received her BA in English and Secondary Education from Providence College in Rhode Island, her MA in School Counseling from Manhattan College and her MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York.  In her position she oversees first year, transfer, and graduate admissions as well as financial aid.  She loves interacting with students (particularly the passionate and creative students at Purchase College) and helping them and their families through the college search process. 

  • Jennifer Shingelo

    Jennifer is the Assistant Dean of Students and Enrollment for the School  of the Arts.  Helping students succeed in college is the part of her job that she loves the best.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her 3 year old daughter, making art and practicing yoga.

  • Aviva Taubenfeld

    Aviva Taubenfeld is Associate Professor of Literature and Director of Writing at Purchase College.  Aviva received her PhD in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in 2003 and has been on the faculty of Purchase ever since. This year she will serve as Chair of the School of Humanities.  A scholar of US literature specializing in the literature and politics of immigration, Aviva’s favorite courses to teach are Childhood in US Literature and Immigration and Ethnicity in US Literature, both of which she had taught at Purchase and in the Bedford Hills College Program for incarcerated women. Aviva is a first generation college graduate who has experienced both the challenges and joys of academic life; she loves helping students find their own path to success.

  • Silke Vigue

    Silke started working in the School of Natural and Social Sciences after graduating from the Biology program in 2013. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University. Silke works closely with and advises our post-baccalaureate premedical students. She has a strong commitment to the campus community and helping students succeed is her highest priority.

    Outside of work Silke likes to be creative and spends as much time as possible outside.

  • Barbara Washington

    Barbara has worked at Purchase College for over 23 years.  She came to the institution having spent several years in the Hospitality, Financial and Public Relations industries. Barbara served as Office Manager, Events Coordinator, Admissions Counselor, Assistant Director and Associate Director of Admissions before serving in her present position as Associate Director of Student Success.  When not working at the college, Barbara serves the community in her church’s food pantry on Saturdays.  She also serves along with her husband as Pastor of Christian Builders Deliverance Ministries, Inc.
