Draft Mission: to complement the food made available through the college’s food pantry; to expand wellness opportunities (education, healthy eating, stress reduction); to complement our sustainability efforts; to create social intersections between various community members from different backgrounds (diversity and community).
SUNY Funding
Purchase received funding from SUNY for Food Insecurity, to be used for:
- Creation of the garden
- Programming for students on healthy cooking & use of produce from the garden
- Stipends for internships & student workers
- Supplies for the garden (seeds, plants, fertilizer, etc.)
Where will the garden be located?
For spring 2024, the pilot program of the food pantry garden will be placed on the patio, behind Fort Awesome. There is the potential for a larger version of the garden to be placed down near the tennis courts.
