July Orientation Program Requirements
Your July Orientation Sessions has specific requirements, policies, and deadlines for all attendees.

On June 1 at 12:00pm(EST) registration begins for your July Orientation sessions. Though additional information will be sent prior to July, please read this email in its entirety as it’s full of important program and registration information.
July Orientation Session Student Registration Information:
It is mandatory for new students to participate in one of the following in-person or virtual sessions. Please select the date below for when you would like to attend as the session content will be the same for each.
In-Person Sessions: Registration has now closed (7/1/21)
There are specific capacity numbers for each in-person session to maintain small groups, social distancing, and other health & safety logistics. These sessions will be filled on a first come, first registered basis:
- Tuesday, July 13: In-Person
- Wednesday, July 14: In-Person
- Thursday, July 15: In-Person
- Monday, July 19: In-Person
- Tuesday, July 20: In-Person for EOP/MAP & Success Fellow Students
- Wednesday, July 21: In-Person for Transfer students only
These in-person sessions will have staggered check-in times beginning at 8:00am(EST) in order to reduce capacity at Check-In. Those who arrive prior to their assigned check-in time will not be accommodated early. The session will conclude by 5:00pm (EST).
∙ Friday, July 16: Virtual Session for First-Year students
The virtual session on Friday, July 16 will begin at 9:30am (EST). There will only be one program on this day specifically for students, not parents or guests. Registration for this session has now closed.
Registration for all of the July sessions, in-person or virtual, begins on June 1 at 12:00pm (EST) and closes by July 1 at noon.
∙There are specific capacity numbers for each in-person session to maintain small groups, social distancing, and other health & safety logistics. These sessions will be filled on a first come, first registered basis. Once a date has closed, additional spots will not be added and a student will be assigned to the virtual date on Friday, July 16.
∙ Registration for your ONE (1) guest to attend the July in-person session with you will open on June 1 at 12:00pm (EST) and close on July 1 at 12:00pm (EST). Due to health & safety guidelines, no late registrations will be accepted.
∙ Links for all virtual sessions (Pre-Orientation Institute, July, or Academic) will be emailed to student’s Purchase email 24-48 hours before the event.
∙ The time zone for all events is EST.
Parent or Guest Registration:
Registration has now closed for parent or guest tickets - 7/1/21.
Students registering for the in-person sessions will be able to register and bring ONE (1) guest – parent, guardian, etc. if they choose. Registration and payment for the one guest must occur by July 1 at 12:00pm. It will cost $30.00 for a guest to attend for the day. After students register for their session a confirmation page will appear and students will be prompted to pay for your guest then. Links will also be made available
The registered guest must attend the same session as their student. Students are only allowed to register for one session. Guests must also adhere to all campus and program policies. Additional guests - beyond the one - will not be allowed to participate; this includes siblings who are minors. Guests that do not register by July 1 at 12:00pm will not be allowed to participate.
Updated Health and Safety Information for All In-Person Session Participants – Students and Guests:
We’re very excited about this opportunity to get together in person for Orientation. However, in order to protect each other and the community and to have the most interactive and enjoyable event possible, we highly encourage all students and guests to get fully vaccinated prior to orientation.
- There are specific capacity numbers for each in-person session to maintain small groups, social distancing, and other health & safety logistics. These sessions will be filled on a first come, first registered basis.
- Proof of vaccination or a negative test result are no longer required to attend
- Out of an abundance of caution; both students and guests, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear masks indoors during presentations.
- All indoor presentation locations will meet adjusted capacities to provide room for social distancing.
- Masks will not be required outdoors for those who are fully vaccinated.
This is required for both the student and their registered guest. Members from the Health Services Office will be available at Check-In to discuss submitting all health record.
Those attendees who do not follow the policies and procedures outlined in Orientation communications will be asked to leave.
Check-In, Parking, and Schedule:
All students will receive any email by Friday, July 9 confirming their attendance at their registered Orientation session.
Your assigned check-in time will be included in this email. Please be timely as the rest of your schedule correlates with your check-in time. Check-In time slots will be at 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, or 9:30am and Check-In will be located at the Performing Arts Center Lower Lobby. The Performing Arts Center is located at the front of the West 1 parking lot.
All attendees should park in the West 1 visitor parking lot. This parking lot will provide access to the Performing Arts Center which is where you will start your day. A parking pass is not necessary for your Orientation session
For planning purposes, the day will conclude around 5:00pm. Please know that students and their guests will be separated throughout the day as we have two programs in order to tailor the information being presented. Your schedule for the day will be provided during check-in.
Participant Tip: Indoor lecture locations tend to run chilly with the AC on, please plan accordingly.
