The Office of Community Engagement is committed to providing involvement opportunities that promote community development, leadership, diversity, multiculturalism, civic engagement, and service learning.
Resident Student Association (RSA)
Regardless of which residence hall you live in, the RSA is dedicated to serving the residents of this campus and ensuring their quality of life.
- Establish and organize Community Councils
- Serve as the communication link between the residents and the Purchase administration
- Provide social, cultural and educational programming within the residential areas
- Support intra-hall activities to further a sense of community within each residential area
This organization is open to all residential students who are interested in getting involved and making a positive impact in their residential and campus communities.
RSA is a member of National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) and regionally a member of the North East Affiliate of National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NEACURH).
RSA elections for 2018-2019 are under way. There will be three information sessions held in March plus current RSA e-board members tabling throughout campus.
Rho Alpha Sigma
National Resident Assistant Honor Society
Each year, ten percent of the total Resident Assistant population at Purchase may be selected for induction into Rho Alpha Sigma! While being a true honorary, these members are also encouraged to engage in service activities that benefit the student staff community, the residence life community, the institutional community, and the community at large.
Launched Spring 2017.
National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
NRHH is a leadership based honorary comprised of exemplary residential students who value service and recognition. This premiere honorary supported by the leading international organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing. It ensures the advancement of member chapters through resource sharing, programming, and leadership development opportunities to contribute and support the vision of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated (NACURH).
