Combining figuration and abstraction, Max Ferro sequences ideas of place, memories, sentiments and the mysteries of self-realization. His fascination with the concept and experience of creativity and self-expression informs his artmaking approach through pieces made from observation, memory and imagination. Working with such analog materials as graphite, charcoal, inks, acrylic or oil, he flows between them using digital tools and writing to create images and animations sequenced together to present a multitude of stories. The results display the psychological effects of space, the power of stories to transport us through our imaginations and ultimately, the infinite energy generated by love. As an educator, he sees teaching as a social extension of what he explores in his art: mainly, that we are all unique individuals with a voice worth sharing. As a musician, he enjoys creating improvised compositions to experience and share the wonderful decisions one can make when engaged with one's intuition. Through his art, he aspires to reach for the ever-shifting total expression of self; always new and at its core, always present.

Lee Tusman is an artist, programmer, and curator interested in the application of the radical ethos of collectives and DIY culture to the creation of, aesthetics, and open-source distribution methods of digital culture. He creates interactive media, artwork, software, bots, websites, virtual assistants, games, sound and radio stations alone and in collaboration. Areas of research and work include: decentralized networks, generative processes, sonification of data, alternative interface and performance tools, Linux and open source software, bots and digital assistants. He studied at Brandeis University and received his MFA at UCLA in Design Media Arts. He is a mentor for the Processing Foundation, a co-founder of Processing Community Day NYC, and an organizer at Babycastles gallery. Lee is host of Artists and Hackers podcast.

Steve Lambert has worked alongside artists and activists in 21 countries on 6 continents helping them to effect power. Trained in the arts, he is known for large scale, public projects that engage new audiences on difficult topics through the social sciences, comedy, games, theater, and democratic participation. Lambert is also the co-founder and co-director of the Center for Artistic Activism, a research and training institute that helps people use their creativity and culture to effect power.

Working across a range of media including video, sound, performance, sculpture, collage, and installation, New York–based artist Sara Magenheimer disrupts, manipulates, and defamiliarizes language with bold combinations of image and text. Her videos incorporate traditional filmic editing techniques alongside those inspired by music and collage. In syncopated progressions of pictures and words, Magenheimer pushes against the bounds of narrative, charting circuitous storylines through vernacular associations that invite individual interpretations.

Joseph (goes by Joe) McKay is an associate professor of new media. He primarily teaches Experimental Game Lab, Programming for Visual Artists, Intro to Physical Computing, Hacking the Everyday,  Senior Seminar and Web Development. 

Joe's work is focused on interactive art-games. He makes games that have their roots in fine art, but are also fun and easy to play. He believes video games are becoming one of the most compelling spaces for modern storytelling. 

Hakan Topal is an artist, engineer, and sociologist. He is originally from Ankara and has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York, since 2000. He is a co-founder of the international art collective xurban_collective (2000–2012).

His work has been exhibited widely, including at the 8th and 9th Istanbul Biennials, TBA21 in Vienna, Kunst-Werke in Berlin, ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, MoMA PS1, Platform in Istanbul, the 9th Gwangju Biennial, ICP Museum in New York, and the Turkish Pavilion at the 49th Venice Biennial.

Topal holds a B.S. in Engineering and an M.S. in Gender and Women's Studies from Middle East Technical University, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research. He is a full Professor of New Media and Art + Design at Purchase , where he currently serves as Chair of Graphic Design.
