More About Me

I am fascinated by the interdisciplinary relationships that address the complexities of contemporary issues.  In his doctoral dissertation, the explored social conditions that influenced the development of HIV/AIDS policy in the first 10 year of the epidemic by using the musical work When We No Longer Touch.  The non-traditional dissertation included a public performance, documentary video and contextual essay.

My teaching model emphasizes the use of primary and contemporary sources.  From these,  I encourage learners to develop their own position on, interpretation of  or solution to an issue.  Creativity and independent thinking are essential in my classes.
