Visiting Assistant Professor of Literature
Sean Nolan is a visiting assistant professor of literature at Purchase College. His research focuses on contemplation, action, idleness, and ecology in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British poetry and has been published in European Romantic Review and Religion and Literature. He has taught courses in literature and writing at several CUNY colleges and Columbia University. At Purchase, he teaches courses on topics including lyric poetry, Romantic and Victorian literature, narratives of displacement and dispossession, and more.
More About Me
His current scholarly projects include a book chapter on rock music and theology and a longer project on Romanticism and nineteenth-century aesthetic and theological critiques of labor. In addition to his academic work, he is a musician, playing bass in the band Good Looking Friends, as well as an avid hiker and runner.
