Kaitlyn Mariah Fikaris

Kaitlyn Fikaris is a journalism major. She will be presenting her senior project, titled “The Price of Being the Pride: The Psychological & Emotional Challenges Facing First-Generation College Students.” As a first-gen student herself, Kaitlyn experienced and saw the challenges many first-gen students encounter in college including anxiety, pressure from family to succeed, issues navigating a foreign world, and imposter syndrome. Her project shares the stories of fellow first-gen students and alumni nationally.
