Gina Ruggeri

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing

Gina Ruggeri is a visual artist whose mixed media work combines drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and installation strategies.

She earned her BFA summa cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her MFA in painting and printmaking from the Yale School of Art. Ruggeri has received various awards for her work, including grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), an artist-in-residency at the Grand Canyon National Park, and fellowships from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation, Yaddo, MacDowell, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Jentel in Wyoming, Lower East Side Printshop, and Marie Walsh Sharpe Studio Space Program.

Ruggeri has had solo shows across the U.S. (and in Japan once) at such venues as the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and the Nancy Margolis Gallery in New York City.

In addition to her teaching at Purchase College, Ruggeri teaches drawing and painting in the art department at Vassar College.
