Doctoral Graduate Extern, Cornerstone Program
Surena Singh is a Doctoral Extern for the Cornerstone Program within the Office of Disability Resources at Purchase College. Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, Surena provides individualized academic, self-management and social skills coaching, serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff, and co-leads weekly groups.
Surena has experience working as a group facilitator for the Social Skills Building Network, a program for individuals on the autism spectrum. In this position, she facilitated educational groups focused on strengthening vocational skills, social skills, and coping and stress reduction strategies. Currently, Surena is a second-year doctoral student in the School Psychology Psy.D. program at Adelphi University. Upon graduation, Surena hopes to continue working with students on the spectrum in a variety of settings, both academically and clinically.
In her free time, Surena loves to travel and has been to seven different countries and nine different states. She also loves to read, listen to music, and watch documentaries, comedies, and crime television shows.
