Program Coordinator, Cornerstone Program
Amanda Wynter is the Program Coordinator of the Cornerstone Program within the Office of Disability Resources at Purchase College. As Program Coordinator, she works directly with students who identify with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, providing individualized academic, self-management, and social skills coaching. Amanda is responsible for providing leadership and supervision of Program staff, including the Peer Mentor Program, and developing and updating policies and procedures. Additionally, she provides professional development for students, faculty, and staff on campus to enhance Autism awareness.
Prior to joining the Office of Disability Resources at Purchase College, Amanda worked as a Special Education Teacher in a public school setting where her responsibilities included teaching academic literacy skills, developing and implementing individualized education plans, and providing individualized interventions and accommodations for students with disabilities. Her professional background also includes experience in college and career readiness and vocational rehabilitation services. Amanda previously served as a Complex Director/Area Coordinator within the Department of Residence Life at The State University of New York at New Paltz.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys to travel, watching crime shows, arts and crafts, and being outdoors. She also values time spent with her husband, son, and cat.
