Lecturer in Literature
Jessica D’Onofrio is a doctoral candidate in English at Fordham University. Her dissertation examines the relationship between literacy and freedom in nineteenth-century American literature. She received her B.A. in English with a minor in Creative Writing from St. John’s University and her M.A. in British and American Literature from Hunter College, CUNY. Her research interests include nineteenth- and twentieth- century American and African American literature, slave narratives and neo-slave narratives, and writing pedagogy.
More About Me
At Purchase, Jessica is currently teaching Freedom Dreams: Introduction to African American Literature and a literature course on the work of Zora Neale Hurston. She also teaches courses in literature and writing at Fordham University and SUNY Empire State College.
