Catherine Brod is Executive Director of the Purchase College Foundation and Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Purchase College.
Ms. Brod has a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Communications from Eastern Illinois University, and is completing a doctoral degree in Education from National Louis University. She has professional certifications in fundraising management from DePaul University and a not-for-profit management and not-for-profit marketing certification from the Business Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Prior to Purchase College, Ms. Brod served as the Vice President of Development and Executive Director of the Foundation at the College of DuPage. Before DuPage, she spent fifteen years at Harper College working as their Executive Director, Vice President for Community Relations, and Chief Advancement Officer. She also served as the Director of Development and Marketing for a national cancer research foundation.
At University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Medical Center, Ms. Brod served as Executive Director of the Illinois Eye Foundation and Advancement Director for the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Ms. Brod has received five national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Medals – one gold medal for an Individual Fundraising publication, two silver medals for Individual Fundraising and Public Service Communications, and two bronze medals for Alumni Relations and Communications Programs. She was a CASE International Trustee and served on multiple committees including the Executive Committee and Chair of the Committee on the Profession. She is a former CASE V board member, CASE Institutionally-related Foundation National Committee member, and has been on the advisory group for CASE International and AGB for the production of a number of white papers. She is often a guest speaker, facilitator and panelist at both CASE and AGB conferences and forums on a wide variety of topics.
Ms. Brod was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award from UIC, the President’s Distinguished Service Award from Harper College, the 2001 Community Relations Award from the Illinois Crossroads Girl Scout Council, and the 2002 Business Ledger Influential Women in Business Award.
