New Librarian Spotlight

Please join us in welcoming two new librarians, Lorraine LaPrade and Jaime Neudecker!

Purchase College Library welcomes two new librarians to our staff.

Lorraine LaPrade joined the Library in November 2022 as the Student Success Librarian. As such Lorraine serves as the library liaison to student success units including the Student Success Committee, the Learning Center, the Multicultural Center, and more. Lorraine is also the subject librarian for History, Political Science, and Law and Justice Studies. Lorraine enjoys writing and storytelling for community building, and often seeks opportunities to include storytelling elements into her work as a librarian/instructor. Lorraine received her Masters in Library Science from Long Island University C.W. Post.

Jaime Neudecker started in early January 2023. Originating from Orlando, Jaime received her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in 2014. She has worked as a research and reference librarian for Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as California State University - Stanislaus in Turlock, California. She now joins the Purchase College Library as a Reference and Instruction Librarian and the new project lead for the Library’s institutional repository. Jaime is also the subject librarian for Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science/Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Her research interests include DEIA and the sciences, as well as digital archives.

The Library is excited to have Lorraine and Jaime as part of our team.
