Fall Security Awareness Training

New York State and SUNY require all employees to undergo Security Awareness training. Purchase College uses an online system called KnowBe4 to deliver that training. Training is conducted in both the fall and the spring semesters.

On Monday November 16th you will receive a notification from the KnowBe4 system inviting you to begin your Fall 2020 Security Awareness Training.

The invitation comes from “” with the subject line “Please Start Your Security Awareness Training.” You can also use this link to begin the training. A link to the training also appears in the “Quick Links” section of the Faculty/Staff Portal page.

As many of us continue to work remotely, security awareness training is more important than ever. This round of Training consists of two short videos and one series of questions in an assessment that is designed to improve the relevance of future security training.

In the Fall and Spring training rounds 75% of faculty and staff completed the training. As more people participate in and complete the training, and fewer folks get themselves phished, we intend to continue rewarding that attentiveness by reducing the amount of training required on an ongoing basis.

As for the 25% of you who did NOT complete the fall training - it is still out there waiting for you. Supervisors have been notified, and the Officers requested reports.
