SUNYWide Film Festival Finalists!

Official selections have been posted. Congratulations to all!

The SUNYWide Film Festival screenplay and film finalists are posted on the SWFF website.

Selections were made by pre-screening committees at SUNY Oswego, SUNY Broome, Fredonia and Purchase College. From here, selections will go to our judges for placement.

Due to the disruption created by COVID-19, the Festival has been postponed until further notice. Updates will be posted here.

The SUNYWide Film Festival (SWFF) now in its 10th year, is one of the top student festivals in the Northeast, bringing entertaining, thought-provoking and challenging film and video work to the public. The festival is free and open to the public.

Historically, SWFF has provided a platform to highlight the work that best exemplifies the dedication and skill found across the SUNY system, where students and faculty explore personal visions through time-based image making.

This year, close to 300 filmmakers and screenwriters submitted their work for consideration. Finalists were selected for prizes in these categories: Narrative, Experimental, Documentary, Animation, Best of Fest, and Best Screenplay.

The Jury & Specials Guests are waiting in the wings

Our honored guest Charles Randolph, plans to deliver the keynote address, schedule permitting.  Mr. Randolph, Bombshell writer and producer also known for The Big Short, recently received the Writers Guild of America West’s 2020 Paul Selvin Award for his work.

We hope we will be able to welcome our jury, including Purchase alumni* to the campus:
