Distribution

ON VIEW:  August 1 - December 23, 2018

Distribution features artists who are reimagining access to information through alternative infrastructures and delivery systems. Throughout the course of the exhibition, artists will engage the community through workshops, interactive installations and websites.
Distribution also examines how these artists are fostering an understanding of the creative and aesthetic potential for digital media and social practice to shape what information is expressed and shared. The works on view are the artists’ response to a political and economic climate in which the legislation and privatization of distribution networks has prompted creative vision to design decentralized, accessible, and collaborative systems that foster informed decision making and participation.

Throughout the course of the exhibition, artists will engage the community through workshops, interactive installations and websites.

Distribution is organized by the Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase College, and curated by Jacqueline Shilkoff, Curator of New Media and Director of Digital Initiatives. Generous support for this exhibition is provided by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; ArtsWestchester with support from the Westchester County Government; the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art; and the Purchase College Foundation.
