New Album Influenced by Purchase

Black Populous, a new album by Adrian “AceMo” Mojica ’15, was influenced by his coursework with Phil Moffa.

The new album by Mojica, a studio production major, was  “composed on hardware and recorded straight to tape without edits or overdubs.”

While a student at Purchase, he studied with Phil Moffa, a “producer of gritty techno,” where he honed his skills.

“Moffa’s hands-on, hardware-centric approach catalyzed an evolution in AceMo’s live techno to a dusty, wheezing beast, now realized more than ever on the visceral, dystopian Black Populous.”
