Purchase Students meet with Dalai Lama

Students and two faculty coordinators had the opportunity to meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This is an opportunity not afforded to many student groups traveling to India.

21 students have just returned from the summer short-term faculty-led study abroad program to India. Students and two faculty coordinators had the opportunity to meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This is an opportunity not afforded to many student groups traveling to India. Purchase’s study abroad program is situated in the Himalayan foothills in the city of Dharamsala. This year students took traditional Indian/Tibetan Art (2 credits) along with a choice in classes between Sociology (Social and Cultural Studies of Food: Indian Gastronomy - 4 credits) and Philosophy (Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy - 4 credits).
