Backstage with “Mozart in the Jungle”

Filmmaking Institute met with Michael Ricci, the Assistant Location Manager of Amazon’s hit show

On Thursday, June 29th, the precollege Filmmaking Institute met with Michael Ricci, the Assistant Location Manager of Amazon’s hit show, “Mozart in the Jungle” and were allowed backstage access to the filming of an episode. After sneaking a peak at “video village” (the area where the director other staff view the camera set ups on an array of TV screens), students got to see the crew rigging lights and some practical special effects for the next day’s shoot. While on set students even got a glimpse of actress Bernadette Peters relaxing between takes.   It was an exciting week and a terrific start to the Filmmaking Institute.
