Annual Workplace and Domestic Violence Prevention Training.
This required training is in compliance with Section 27-b of the State Labor Law which states that public employers must develop and implement programs to prevent and minimize workplace violence. The National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) defines workplace violence as “violent acts (including physical assaults and threats of assaults) directed toward persons at work or on duty.” A Workplace Advisory committee has been established which includes leaders from the unions on campus as well employees who volunteered to be on the committee.
Purchase College is committed to the safety and well-being of all its employees. We are requesting that supervisors do all they can to ensure that their employees attend this important training. The Domestic Violence and Workplace Violence Prevention Polices are available to be viewed and downloaded from the Human Resources Policies and Procedures website.
Training on Workplace Violence & Domestic Violence Prevention will highlight preventative measures, signs and reporting incidents.
