Location, Location, Location

One of the things that makes Purchase College so special is the location. It provides a certain level of isolation, even in the midst of three major cities: White Plains, Port Chester, and of course, New York City.
Each of these cities are no more than 35 minutes away from Purchase, making them so accessible by the Loop and public transportation. The Loop is our free shuttle bus system that drops you off at various locations in nearby Port Chester and White Plains (each only about 15 minutes away, at most).
Purchase students get to enjoy the idyllic 550 acre campus with its lush landscape but also benefit from our close proximity to these three cities (a major advantage when you’re planting seeds for a career). Many Purchase students do internships or work in New York City, for example.
All three are also fun to explore, as they’re diverse and rich with culture. Each city has a unique twist to it that cannot go unexplored. I love immersing myself and visiting new spots. However, if you’re visiting Port Chester, let me recommend my favorite place: Bar Taco. It’s a very cute and intimate restaurant with outstanding food and a youthful vibe. In White Plains, I enjoy going to the Westchester Mall, which has great stores to do some luxurious shopping. New York City, as I’m sure you’ve guessed or know from experience, has endless places to go and something for everyone. My favorite NYC destination? The Natural History M useum.
