Capture That #PurchaseBound Feeling

I remember what it was like finding out that I had been accepted to Purchase… is what I would like to tell you. Truth is, I don’t think I even opened my own acceptance letter (thanks, Mom).
It’s been about three years since I found out I was #PurchaseBound, and although I can’t recollect how exactly I found out, I still know that I felt on top of the world when I did. In high school, I did alright; nothing exceptional, but I wasn’t a poor student either. As I went through my years, I began to doubt if I would, or even could, go to college. Now I’m in my third year at Purchase (which was my number one choice), and I can’t imagine how my life would have turned out otherwise.
I’ve met amazing people, had a multitude of experiences (both good and bad), taken a wide variety of classes, grown a lot, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
Newly accepted students: don’t forget to celebrate your successes. When you find out that you’ve been accepted to a school- Purchase or otherwise – take a mental snapshot (or a real one if you’re into that) and document this important milestone in your life. If in the future you’re ever in any doubt about the path you chose, or if you’re just feeling nostalgic like I am, you’ll be able to think back to this moment and tell yourself, “I can do it!”
Congratulations, and I hope to get to meet you at one of our Accepted Student Days!
