Since 2017, the Purchase College community has come together during fall semesters to plan the Days of Action and Dialogue (DOAD) programming series. This campus-wide community engagement and building initiative is meant to encourage collective engagement, facilitate dialogue, and foster community synergy in response to social justice and civility issues facing us at the global, national, local, and community levels.

We are asking the community to participate in this initiative by telling us about programs, activities, and/or events that align with the theme and that are planned to take place during the DOAD two-week time period so that we can advertise and support these events; as well as add them to the DOAD calendar. We are also soliciting new program proposals for a wide array of events from students, faculty or staff who wish to organize events that will be open to the campus community and off-campus community (when possible). We look forward to supporting these events and adding them to the DOAD calendar as well.

DOAD events should draw on both individual and collective experiences and expertise. The activities can be large or small such as lectures, workshops, screenings, performances, online teach-ins, conversations, virtual presentations, charrettes, community actions, volunteer opportunities, letter-writing campaigns, meditations, reading groups, and more. The Days of Action and Dialogue organizing committee will collect submissions and assemble a running list of events to publicize through the Broadcast Email Messaging (BEM) system, the Purchase calendar, and the DOAD calendar.

Programs notifications and proposals can be submitted to through the DOAD form.

Please consider contributing to and participating in this important tradition, in efforts to support meaningful social change, and to build and bind our community.
