This version of Brecht’s great play transfers the action from medieval Europe to the American Civil War.  A black woman tries to profit from selling goods to both sides and protect her adult children from their own heroic impulses. Commissioned by the Public Theatre, this adaptation was created by the author of For Colored Girls Who have Considered When the Rainbow is Enuf.

Repertory for the Purchase Dance Corps Spring Concert features classical and contemporary dance by outstanding choreographers.  Highlights of the concert include works by the legendary Twyla Tharp and the Conservatory’s Nelly van Bommel, one of Dance Magazine’s 2010 “25 to Watch.”  The Purchase Dance Corps is the performing ensemble that presents concerts at Purchase College and has toured nationally and internationally.  The Conservatory of Dance is recognized as a preeminent international center for training professional dancers and choreographers.
