Brentano Quartet
Sunday, May 5, 2013
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER 1302 - STAGE C
Celebrating their 20th anniversary
Named for Antonie Brentano, whom many scholars consider to be Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved,” the Brentano String Quartet
is indeed much loved by area audiences. The intimacy of their playing,
whether they’re tackling very old works, very new works, or something in
between, is incandescent. With praise such as “magnificent” from the
London Times and “seemingly infallible instincts for finding the center
of gravity in every phrase and musical gesture” from the Philadelphia
Inquirer, it’s no wonder they have become one of today’s most popular
string quartets.
“…passionate, uninhibited and spellbinding” -London Independent
