Jacquernst F. Filias

Jacquernst is a Haitian-born actor based in Brooklyn, NY. He arrived in the U.S. at seven years old. Experiencing hate, love, and differences in people’s cultures, he developed a deeper sense of compassion and understanding; the same qualities he brings to his acting.

Through his mentor Purchase alumnus Brian D. Hills, Jacquernst gained the opportunity to perform alongside Tony Danza at the Gerald W Lynch Theater. Jacquernst was also selected for the renowned Shubert Festival for BHSA’s production of Almost Maine. These opportunities shaped his desire to make art and influenced his yearning to train. His purpose is to represent his country as a beacon of light and a role model for up-and-coming kids. From Port-Au Prince to Canarsie, and now SUNY Purchase, Jacquernst is delighted to show how well all these experiences have prepared him for his career and his final performance as a BFA actor as Aaron the Moor in Titus Andronicus.
