Rachel Lipson ’03
Lipson has a unique approach to teaching music to kids and adults.
Following graduation Rachel Lipson ’03 (literature and philosophy) toured Europe with her own band. She continued to play guitar while she moved from job to job, and then landed a position as a pre-school teacher in Brooklyn.
What started as a few music lessons after school evolved into the opening of her own music school, Blue Balloon Songwriting in 2010. But Blue Balloon does more than just traditional music lessons, her philosophy is to teach songwriting and composition from the very beginning, emphasizing creativity, self-expression, and self-confidence.
