backstory50: The Museum Service Council

Another of the Neuberger’s great support organizations is the Museum Service Council. The MSC is comprised of devoted art lovers who have volunteered hours and hours of their time to the education of generations of students—from the College and from the community—who have walked through the doors of the Museum.

My predecessor directors and I are grateful to each and every one of the many individuals who have been a part of the MSC. I’d be remiss, though, if I did not point to one volunteer in particular, Lois Bregstein. If you volunteered here with the MSC at any point in the last 47 YEARS, then you know Lois … because that’s how long she has been volunteering at the Neuberger. Amazing.

During the Museum’s Golden Anniversary Celebration on April 13, we will recognize Lois as our Passionate Volunteer in recognition of her many years of service and tireless efforts to lead tours, develop programming, train fellow volunteers, and collaborate on teacher guides for the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Please join us to celebrate Lois and the other honorees.

Today’s 50th anniversary thank-you goes to all the members of the Museum Service Council and Volunteer Museum Educators, past and present, for your years of dedicated service to the Neuberger Museum of Art, our visitors, and the members of our community!

Director, Neuberger Museum of Art
