Spring 2023 Update: Confirm & Merge Your Perusall Accounts

Perusall is now seeing your Purchase College email coming through a new integration, and will ask you to confirm that you want to join your past work through the old Perusall integration with the new work you’re setting up for the Spring 2023 semester.  Basically, Perusall just needs you to confirm that all of the work you’re doing is associated your Purchase College account email, even through there are two Perusall integrations involved. 

As a reminder, please do not import previous Perusall activities from past courses into your current semester’s Moodle course spaces. This will cause issues with your Perusall account.

To confirm and merge your Perusall accounts:

• add a new “Perusall 1.3” activity to the desired course (in the desired week/topic, click on +Add an activity or resource > click on Perusall 1.3); give the activity a name (e.g. “Perusall Library”) and click on the Save and display button.
  
  
• before the new activity can be created, you will see this message on the screen:

You already have a Perusall account under the email address on file in your Learning Management System. Perusall can connect your existing account to your Learning Management System so you can launch Perusall directly from your LMS. Perusall has sent you an email to confirm this operation; please check your inbox and click on the link in the email to confirm.

• next, check your Purchase College email inbox to locate the notification from Perusall (which will be sent from: perusall@mg.perusall.com):

Dear {your name},
You or someone else recently tried to log into Perusall from a Learning Management System using this email address. If this was you, click below to link your existing Perusall account with your Learning Management System. If you did not initiate this change, simply ignore this email; your account has not been changed. {Link to confirm and merge accounts}

• Click on the blue button to “Confirm and merge your accounts” so that you can continue to make use of Perusall on our Moodle system.
