The George Perry Floyd, Jr. Trustee Scholarship for Civic Engagement and Social Justice

The George Perry Floyd, Jr. Trustee Scholarship for Civic Engagement and Social Justice was established in 2021 when the Purchase College Foundation Board of Trustees dedicated $100,000 of its assets to launch this new quasi-endowed fund.

Each year, the scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior who is a first-generation college student and exemplifies activity, commitment and leadership in the areas of civic engagement and social justice.

The fund, which continues to accept gifts from additional donors, grew by $29,182.00 in FY21 thanks to donations from Foundation Trustees, alumni, parents, friends, and faculty and staff of the College.
