Congrats to Playwriitng & Screenwriting alum Christine-Hamilton Schmidt who premieres her new play, “Charlotte Stay Close” at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The play starts previews on Sept 20, 2019, opens Sept 27 and runs through Oct 27, 2019.

Charlotte is just days away from dying of cancer and wants her older sister Kathryn to go on to live the happiest life possible. Unfortunately, there’s a giant obstacle standing in the way of that possibility: Kathryn. Charlotte’s hospice room morphs into a breeding ground for Kathryn’s fights with her husband, Dustin, surprising connections and reunions, and ultimately a mix of anger, lust, and tension that explodes into violence. Charlotte Stay Close is a brutal, but also funny and moving play about three young people navigating loss, love, and the bond between sisters.
