Music by Dan Romer ’04 Featured in Netflix Movie
Dan Romer ’04 (studio production) has written a new song titled “Tell Me How Long” with Teddy Geiger, which has been recorded by actress Kristen Bell for Netflix’s new movie Chasing Coral. The song is described on deadline.com as “a rousing plea about the climate crisis and the devastating phenomenon of global bleaching coral reefs.”
Romer scored the rest of the film with fellow alumnus Saul Simon MacWilliams ’05 (studio composition). Romer is also well known for his scores of the Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild (with Benh Zeitlin), Finders Keepers (with studio composition alumnus Osei Ossed ’04, MM ’06), and the Emmy-winning Jim: The James Foley Story (with MacWilliams and Ossed).
Chasing Coral will begin streaming on Friday, July 14, on Netflix and is directed by Jeff Orlowski.
Romer also scored every episode of the new Netflix series Atypical, due to drop August 11.
