They also support wellness programs and participate in health workshops and other activities that support physical wellness for the campus community.
As announced to the campus community Sept. 5, 2012:
Health Services is announcing a change in the method of scheduling appointments to better serve our students. This new model is called “open access,” which means that every attempt will be made to give an appointment on the same day that a student calls. Student Health Services will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 pm. Student appointment times will be from 8:45 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on Wednesdays, when the times will be 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be appointment times during lunch hours (noon to 2 p.m.); there will be no walk-in hours as in the past. Students are encouraged to call early in the morning (after 8:30 a.m. and preferably before 11 a.m.) to arrange for a same-day appointment. A student will be given the first available appointment that is mutually acceptable to the student and to the Student Health Services staff. In the case of a medical emergency or severe illness, students should call or come to Student Health Services. Appointments will be prioritized according to the patient’s condition.
There will be some slots available for students to make appointments for another day ahead of time.
Annual women’s health appointments will continue in blocks on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. These appointments can be scheduled ahead of time or on the same day if space permits.
Appointments for travel medicine are scheduled by an online student submission of pertinent information regarding the travel. Please refer to www.purchase.edu/healthservices, and select “Study Abroad Travel Forms” and then “Making an Appointment…” The Student Health Services staff will respond to these requests.
The appointment line for Student Health Services is (914) 251-7925.
