The Center for Production Services provides the schools, conservatories, centers, and departments at Purchase College with an array of essential digital resources and support.

Special Productions and Marketing
The center produces professional quality, high-profile productions for use in classes and learning management systems like Moodle, and on the college’s and related websites. Individual faculty support is also provided for professional development and grant applications.

Classroom and Project Support
To facilitate course objectives, the center provides instruction on the use of digital technology for the boards of study. Working closely with faculty members, the director of production services designs teaching sheets and conducts in-class workshops on video and audio production, editing software, and production techniques. The director also:

  • assists faculty members with learning and using the related technology required for their courses
  • assists students individually in the labs and with their own equipment, responding to questions and troubleshooting as needed
  • mentors students as they develop and complete specific course projects, independent studies, and senior projects

TV Production Studio
The center operates and maintains a multicamera TV production studio, used for teaching specific classes and for individual faculty and student productions. Classes in broadcast journalism and multiple-platform writing are held regularly in this studio, and intensive support is provided. The production services staff prepare the studio, teach students how to use the technology, and oversee all activities held in the studio. Technical support and guidance are also provided outside of class to enable students to edit programs created in the TV studio.
