We are looking forward to having you here on campus with us!

Orientation is one day of fast-paced programming designed to introduce you to campus life, resources on and off campus, academics and most importantly to introduce you to your fellow classmates.

At Orientation, you will be part of a small group of 20 students led by a Student Orientation Leader (SOLs).  SOL's serve as the 'know it all's' of campus.  They will answer questions about Purchase, help you find your way around campus and encourage you to make friends.

GETTING HUNGRY?  You will definitely work up an appetite at Orientation.  Don't worry; we've got you covered.  Breakfast and lunch are provided at Orientation for all who attend.  Special dietary needs are no problem; just make sure to let us know so we can make special arrangements.

Sending your student off to college can be an exciting and frightening experience.  We hope to alleviate some of your concerns through our Parent Orientation program that runs parallel with our Student Orientation dates.  Parent Orientation is a one-day program, designed to introduce parents to campus life, on and off campus resources, academics, and also to meet faculty, staff, and other parents.

Parents will receive a hard-copy letter in the mail with more information on Parent Orientation.

There is a $75 fee per parent to attend Orientation.  This includes the meals for the day, giveaways, and presentations.

Is Orientation and Welcome Week really that fun?  Will I make new friends?
Yes, they are really fun!  Freshmen who attend always comment on how it prepared them for the start of their college experience.  In addition, some meet their future best friends, classmates, and roommates.  The Orientation staff does their best to make it an enjoyable experience, but it is up to YOU as to how fun it will be.  You have to take the steps to make the most out of the experience and meet new people!
