WHAT TO EXPECT
Orientation is one day of fast-paced programming designed to introduce you to campus life, your academic program, and your fellow classmates. Orientation is required.
At Orientation you will be joining new students excited to start their Purchase journey. For the majority of the day, you will learn about campus resources, your academic program, and will get the opportunity to socialize with your classmates.
RISE AND SHINE! If you are living on campus for the Fall semester, you should plan on moving into your residence hall or apartment between 8:30am-10:30am on August 20, 2014. Commuters can check-in between 9:30am-11:00am on August 20th at Orientation Central in front of the Student Services Building. The program will begin with lunch at 11:00am and last the whole day and carry into the Welcome Week programming that will take place from August 21-24.
GETTING HUNGRY? You will definitely work up an appetite at Orientation. Don't worry; we've got you covered. All meals are provided to the participants of the orientation program. Special dietary needs are no problem; just make sure to let us know so we can make special arrangements.

Is Orientation and Welcome Week really that fun? Will I make new friends?
Yes, they are really fun! Students who attend always comment on how it prepared them for their college experience. In addition, some meet their future best friends, classmates, and roommates. The Orientation staff does their best to make it an enjoyable experience, but it is up to YOU as to how fun it will be. You have to take the steps to make the most out of the experience and meet new people!
