Q: What kinds of scholarships are available?

A:

The college offers academic merit-based and talent-based scholarships.  In order to be eligible for these scholarships, freshman applicants must have pursued a high school curriculum with a minimum grade point average of 86, and combined SAT (Critical Reading plus Math) test score of at least 1100 and transfer applicants must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Students accepted into visual and performing arts may be eligible for talent-based scholarships.  These scholarships are determined by the specific arts program.  All scholarships range from about $2,000 to $4,000.  Although all students are automatically considered, scholarship awards are dependent upon the time of their acceptance and the availability of funds.  Competition for these scholarships is quite high, often causing the minimum test scores and grade point averages to be greater than the above criteria. There is no special application process to be considered for a scholarship.  A total of $1,799,900 was awarded for the 2007/2008 academic year.
