Jerry Mitkowski is a Steinway specialist in New York. Jerry was trained by Steinway & Sons under a five year company apprenticeship with Masaru Tsumita, then Steinway Hall master technician and subsequent master technician at the Juilliard School. Jerry came to the Conservatory of Music in 1999 with 20 years of experience in the New York entertainment and music education fields, caring for Steinway pianos. Jerry was personal piano tuner for Frank Sinatra in his home at the Waldorf Towers. Prior to signing on at the college, Jerry worked at the Village Gate, the Blue Note, the Village Vanguard, Birdland, and scores of others. Preparing pianos for recording sessions Jerry worked at Atlantic Records, the Hit Factory, Eros Sound, NBC Studios, Town Hall, Madison Square Garden, Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall, the Beacon Theater, and the Bottom Line, among many others. Jerry enjoys working with the gifted students at Purchase College. Jerry lives in New Rochelle, NY.
