Denny Santos, Assistant Director:

Denny earned his BA in sociology from Purchase College in 2004 and his MA in college student affairs leadership from Grand Valley State University in 2006. Denny joined Purchase in 2007 as the residence coordinator of the Olde apartment complex and made a transition to the Residence Halls in 2009. In addition to being the assistant director, he supervises a Capoeira group on-campus and is the advisor for Latinos Unidos.

Denny is a Manhattan native and a die-hard Mets fan.

Michelle Carvajal, Assistant Director:

Michelle earned her BS in Business Administration in 2001 from Bryant University and her MBA from Fitchburg State University in 2003. Michelle has worked professionally in residence life for over 10 years, serving as a Resident Director, Area Coordinator, and Associate Director at various institutions in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. Her work has been spent supervising staff, counseling students, serving as a hearing officer and fulfilling operational needs.  

Outside of work you will find Michelle practicing yoga at a local studio in Greenwich, CT.

Bret Beaufeaux, Big Haus Residence Coordinator:

Bret Beaufeaux earned his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of West Florida and his Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami. Bret joined the Purchase College Community Engagement team in July of 2014. He is the Residence Coordinator for Big Haus and helps coordinate paraprofessional training and leadership development for resident assistants. In addition, Bret teaches First Year Seminar and is an academic advisor for some first year students.

Bret enjoys podcasts, spending time with his family and friends, and laughing a lot. 

Robyn Firth: Fort Awesome Residence Coordinator:

Robyn hails from the state of Florida where she earned her BA in Psychology & International Affairs from Florida State University. In 2014 she earned her MS in Organizational Learning & leadership from Barry University in Miami. Before joining the Office of Community Engagement, as a Residence Coordinator at Purchase, Robyn worked with First-Year Experience Programs and in Student Life. Although she is not fond of the colder months, Robyn is very excited to be a part of this great team.

Some of Robyn's hobbies include binge watching TV shows on Netflix, seeing shows on Broadway, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Suzanna Farner: Farside Residence Coordinator:

Suzie comes to us from upstate NY where she received a BS in Biomedical Sciences in 2012 from University at Buffalo and a MS in College Student Personnel in 2014 from Western Illinois University. Suzie joined Purchase in July 2014 with a background in programming, orientation, and Residence life and is currently overseeing Farside, a first-year hall.  

In addition to being excited to explore NYC, Suzie loves artistic expression and is very excited to work at an institution that has such prominent art programs.

Thomas Gelok, Commons Residence

Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and 5-12 New York State Teaching Certification from Siena College in May 2011 and then his Master of Education in Higher Education Administration in May 2014 from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.  In addition to his responsibilities as the RC for the Commons, Thomas also teaches two courses on campus: Fundamentals of Leadership and Fundamentals of Service Learning, and serves as the Chair for the Residential Curriculum.  He is very excited to be at Purchase and have the opportunity to create meaningful cocurricular opportunities for students.   

Outside of his roles on campus, Thomas loves venturing into NYC to see as many shows as he can!

Kamaro Abubakar, Alumni Village Residence Coordinator:

Kamaro earned his BA in Human Development from The University of Vermont in 2012. He achieved his MA in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago in 2014. Kamaro is the Residence coordinator for the Alumni Village Apartment and his collaterals include the Counseling Center, Wellness Center, Intramural Sports, and the Conduct Office.

Kamaro loves and occasionally plays soccer.

John Byrnes, Office Manager, Campus Center North:

John attended Berkeley College in White Plains and graduated in 2002. John joined Purchase in 2003 as an office assistant and made the transition to Office Manager for the Office of Community Engagement. John was born and raised in Port Chester, NY and is a huge sports fan. Let's go Met's, 49ers, Knicks and Rangers.
