Room Change Week
During the third week of classes each semester, students have the opportunity to change rooms. During this week signs will be posted in all residential areas notifying you of the specific procedures for Room Change Week.
Mid-Semester Room Changes
Residence Life generally considers a student's room assignment as permanent for the year. However, we recognize that situations may arise in which it is in a student's best interest to change rooms.
If you feel that you may need a room change, please see your RA or CA first. Quite often, a simple and easy mediation with a staff member can ease tensions between roommates and eliminate the need for a room change.
However, if this does not solve the problem, you should visit the appropriate professional staff member. In the residence halls, you should make an appointment to see the RC for your building. In the apartments, all residents should make an appointment to speak with Mike Tyler in J2-1.
Special Circumstances
If you require certain accomodations that are not met by your current room assignment, you may be able to get a room change. Students needing special accomodations generally need to visit Ronnie Mait in the Office of Special Student Services. A determination will be made regarding what housing accomodations are necessary for you.
