RLyon.jpgHead Coach: Ricardo Lyon-Trapp (1st Year)

A former professional player, Ricardo Lyon-Trapp enters his first season as the new head coach for the Purchase College men's soccer team, replacing Paul Brooks.

Lyon-Trapp, who played for Union San Felipe in Chile’s Premier Division, and also played for the U17, U20 and U21 national teams of Chile, has been very active in the Westchester area coaching scene over the last few years. He has served as the director of soccer programs and head coach at nearby Sleepy Hollow High School and the varsity soccer coach at Hackley H.S. In addition, he’s also coached youth soccer with the Yorktown and Chappaqua soccer clubs as well as the ENYYSA ODP coaching staff.

 Since 2008, Lyon-Trapp has also coached for FC Westchester, one of the most prestigious soccer clubs in Westchester county. He has also been part of the USSF Academy Clubs, during which time, his FCW B97’s team won the State Cup Championship, and was also a semifinalist at the Region 1 National Championship Series.

As part of his coaching credentials, he holds an USSF “A” license, as well as the NSCAA Advanced National, Director of Coaching and Regional Goalkeepers Diplomas. Lyon-Trapp holds several international coaching courses and diplomas from countries like: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Holland.

He resides in Pleasantville, NY with his wife Paulina, five-year-old son, Vicente, and one-year-old daughter, Natalia.
