Definition: ANY DISASTER, FREAK OCCURRENCE, UTILITIES MALFUNCTION, OR EQUIPMENT FAILURE THAT PRESENTS AN IMMINENT DANGER TO THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF HUMAN LIFE OR WOULD CAUSE SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO COLLEGE AND STATE PROPERTY.
Good judgement on the part of individuals is an important determining factor of what is an emergency.
Any emergency should be reported to the FMG office (ext. 6920) during normal working hours (8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday). During off-hours, emergencies should be reported to the Heating Plant (ext. 6928), or University Police (ext. 6900).
Priority Work Requests
Situations, which do not fit into the definition of emergency, but require prompt attention to avoid danger to health, damage to property, or severe inconvenience are classified as priority work requests. The following situations represent priority work requests: Heating and cooling problems, serious roof leaks, broken glass, and power failures. To report a priority work request, call extension 6920 during normal working hours.
