With over 20 years experience in career development in both higher education and not-for profit organizations, Wendy has brought a host of new initiatives to the Purchase College campus including overseeing the creation the Purchase’s first web-based job search system, Purchase JobScore, (a partner with NACELink,) development of an alumni career mentor network, professional career panels, specialized programs and resources for students in arts and liberal arts, bringing new employers to campus with the now annual Job and Internship Fair.  She was previously the Associate Director of the Office of Career Services at New York University. Prior to her experience with college students, she worked as career consultant and pre-vocational trainer for educational programs in art and design, job and career centers, high schools, and various not-for-profit organizations.  She is a member of the Purchase College Strategic Planning and Student Engagement and Success Committees and also teaches the Career Planning & Decision Making course at Purchase College.

Jessica Mazzia

Jessica brings an extensive background in managing employer relations and development along with experience working closely with students.  As a career counselor she is well practiced in event coordination, career programming and addressing the career needs of undergraduates, graduate students and alumni while serving both at Wagner College and Fordham University.  She has worked with diverse populations of students as an Academic Advisor for the Higher Education Opportunity Program, Career Counselor and Assistant Director of Career Development.  Her knowledge of technology is an additional asset to the Career Development Center, where she oversees the offices technology services, which includes managing the Purchase JobScore system.   She is a member of the Purchase College Wellness Committee and also teaches the Career Planning & Decision Making course at Purchase College.

As a Nationally Certified and State Licensed Counselor, Tara’s background includes experience with university and high school populations as well as non-profit organizations. Tara oversees the internship program, Alumni Mentor Network, and diversity programming and services for the Career Development Center. Tara is recognized as a Master Career Counselor through the National Career Development Association. She is a member of the Purchase College Diversity Committee and also teaches courses at Purchase including Career Planning & Decision Making, Freshmen Seminar, and Interpersonal Communication.

Alumni Career Counselor

Maureen has a strong background in Career Counseling with experience working at both Fordham University and Dominican College.  As the Assistant Director at Fordham University’s Career Services office, she worked closely with students on everything from career decision-making to resume and cover letter writing, interview techniques, and on-campus recruiting.  Additionally, she managed the Internship Program which allowed students an excellent opportunity to gain career specific skills and break into various fields.  As the Director of Career Planning and Placement at Dominican College, Maureen continued her work as a career counselor and focused on expanding opportunities for students and alumni.  She developed initiatives to aid in the job/career search process and advanced the technology of the office.  Maureen is eager to work with both students and alumni at Purchase College.

Rachael serves as the Office Manager for the Career Development Center.  With over 14 years experience working within a College environment including SUNY Maritime College. Rachael assists with office administration and operations, responding to employer inquiries, managing credential files, facilitating student registration on Purchase JobScore, and processing academic internships for students.  Rachael's college background includes coursework in chemical engineering from CCNY and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purchase College.
