Youth

The Purchase Youth Programs in the Arts provide a unique opportunity to spend the summer exploring the visual and performing arts under the guidance of experienced instructors and practicing artists. Grouped by age, the Youth Programs are designed to enable the exploration of a variety of artistic genres. For example, a student interested in the performing arts may choose to take Purchase Youth Theatre in session I, Young Writers in session II, and Young Filmmakers in session III. Shakespeare (Young Bards)

small blue bulletIt’s all excellent! Can’t think of anything I’d change. It’s really the best thing [my child]’s ever done. She had the best time ever!

small blue bullet[My child] enjoyed the high level of intensity, wonderful rapport between kids and instructors. It is “college-like,” which middle-schoolers love; it encourages them to take the program seriously.

small blue bullet[My son] (age 10) said that it was the best camp ever and was sad that it ended.

Young Filmmakers

small blue bulletI believe this program will leave an indelible and positive mark on my son that will continue to color his passion for film from this day forward.

small blue bullet[My child] enjoyed working with friends to create an entire movie completely from scratch.

small blue bulletLoved the film fest[ival]. Thanks for all your work. [My daughter] loved the staff, the kids. You guys are the bomb!

Youth Theatre

small blue bulletWe were very impressed with the professionalism. Amazing performance…!!

small blue bulletI am very impressed by the spirit of cooperation and esprit de corps that the instructors have so successfully fostered.

small blue bulletThis was the best thing my daughter has done for herself.

Young Artists

small blue bulletMy daughter enjoyed the range of projects. I liked the curriculum, length, and structure of day, teacher input, art exhibit, and museum visit. Thank you—it and you were wonderful.

small blue bulletI like that it is educational, that my child not only learns new art techniques and different media, but also art history and background of the projects.

small blue bulletMy child loved the camp, thought it was “perfection,” and looks forward to returning next year.
