Grades 4–8

Typical Day

Develop ideas, plans, drawings, and models of your fantasy buildings using the Purchase College campus, with its varied contemporary examples of architecture and landscape, as inspiration. Learn how to manipulate space, materials, and style through exercises that focus on drawing and thinking and through demonstrations of the properties of assorted materials. Construct a model of your own dream structure and invite family and friends to see it on display at the final exhibition.

To broaden skills and exposure to the arts, Young Architects can be combined with Young Artists, Young Video Game Creators and Animators (new!), Young Chess Masters (new!), Creating Comic Books, Youth Musical Theatre, Young Actors, Young Photographers, Young Writers, the Songwriting Workshop, and/or Creative Vocal Lab to make for a well-rounded summer experience.

Session III: July 29–August 9
Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
$1,165 for the first registration
$1,045 for the second registration in the family, Purchase College employees and alumni, and early registrations (received by May 3, 2013)
